BEIJING, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) — A 5.0-magnitude earthquake jolted the waters off Hualien County in China’s Taiwan at 4:26 p.m. Monday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 23.90 degrees north latitude and 121.73 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 20 km, said a report issued by the CENC.
