BAGHDAD — Iraqi Shiite militia Kata’ib Hezbollah announced Friday that one of its senior leaders was killed in an Israeli attack in the Syrian capital Damascus.
A statement by the Iraqi armed group said that Abu Haidar al-Khafaji was killed at dawn on Friday when performing his duties as a security advisor in Damascus.
The armed group said that it will continue to support the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, the statement added.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based war monitor, confirmed the incident, revealing that al-Khafaji was killed in a suspected Israeli drone strike near Damascus International Airport.
